I'm looking at getting an All In One Laser printer, i don't mind if
colour or just mono, all i need is Black in colour, smallish footprint
430mm x 300mm but i can work round this to some degree by putting my own
rubber feet on it and "making" it fit the above footprint, cheapish
running costs and to be honest don't need much else like wifi or
net-workable.

I do like the look of something like the Brother MFC-7460DN
http://www.brother.co.uk/g3.cfm/s_page/215760/s_level/36240/s_product/MFC7460DNU1
the reason i like the look of the brother is i hate having paper trays
hanging out the front and poking into my desk area so something like the
HP LaserJet M1217NFW is out of the question.

Cost we'll i not fussed buying new or off eBay but i guess my limit is
about £170, I can go a bit more on Amazon UK as i have some vouchers
with them i can use, your comments and suggestions are welcome.

I've had problems with brother (a DCP-7010 european A4 version)and Linux
in the past. The scanner returned truncated scans, due to their bogus
scanner driver. Also, the printouts looked somewhat misaligned... Not
sure if the latter effect is due to the printer, or something inside
CUPS. It has not been enough trouble to return that thing, but I do
avoid batch scans.... Customer support was not very helpful either.

Having managed numerous Brother MFC models, I do suggest the Brother
MFC-7460DN.

I must admit i was half sold on the 7460DN but having read what Johann
and Amazon UK reviews say i am a little worried about it, which is a
shame as i love the simple design of it.
