Hi, we need a small light weight portable printer we can take on the road
and avoid business centers in airports and hotels.
Any suggestions for a light weight portable printer
that'll connect to a notebook computer?

Thanks,

Mike

I am carrying Pentax portable printer when travelling, but this works
with thermo paper like the on efor fax. But is small, can work on
paralell, serial or IRDA.

Mike-

One of the smallest printers I've seen, is the Canon BJC-50. There is
also the larger BJC-85, which I have. I understand both will take the
same NK-300 battery adapter and ink cartridges/tanks. However these are
several years old and may no longer be available new. The ink tanks are
relatively small, and color photos fade more than you would expect.

I'm currently using an HP 450 with the battery pack and Bluetooth
adapter. It is about the same size as the BJC-85, but the battery pack is
much smaller than Canon's NK-300 adapter. The ink cartridges seem to last
a long time.

I find that printing to the HP 450 via Bluetooth is much slower than via
the USB cable. If you don't need battery power and don't mind the USB
cable, the basic printer may meet your needs. I understand there is a
newer model, but I don't know its number.

The newer replacement for the DeskJet 450 is the DeskJet 460. See

Thanks Fred I'll check out the newer model.
