Suggestion: Outlook 2007 To-Do bar appointment conditional formatt

In Outlook 2007 (and future releases), I would like to see an option to setup
conditional formatting in the To-Do bar. For example, my appointments all
have the blue/white blend as the background color, but for appointments
within 24 hours, I would like to make that a yellow/white blend, and within 1
hour, a red/white blend so it really stands out. It would be nice to have a
conditional formatting dialog like Excel uses, or something with similar
functionality.

1 hour is not doable - but you can use autoformatting to color items. right
click on the row of field names and choose customize. Under conditions, use
Due today in the autoformatting filter.
 
Thanks for the response! I cannot seem to get that to work either though.
While today's appointments are properly colored in the calender view with the
auto formatting, the "To-Do bar" in my mail view does not reflect this
change.

Regardless, a higher time resolution would still be a nice feature, but if
you do have any tips on how to make your suggestion work, that would be
better than nothing.

You need to customize the task view on the to-do bar.

In this screen shot, I show the menu (opened by r-clicking on the field
name) and the 3 messages that are flagged as due today are shown in maroon
italics. (Yes, I have a lot that are overdue. :))

Unlike other folders, this task list supports just one view, so you can't
make multiple views to show different things.
 
I'm not sure that you really answered the right question, initially
Jade was asking about Appointments, not Tasks. You showed how to
filter tasks for today, not Appointments.

I love the new To-Do bar, I am planning on buying a copy of Outlook
2007 just to have it (currently using the trial). However, it is
confusing when I keep seeing that I have appointments, but they are
not appointments for today. A way to filter appointments, or do
coloring per Jade's suggestion, would be excellent.
