Suggestion for freeware no-ads alternative to Taskplus ?

I used to like Taskplus, but the current version has made the ads just
too obtrusive and annoying, so I need to change to something else.

As an aside, the recent versions of Taskplus require you to update
once a year or start giving warnings. Was this always true, or what
is the newest version that doesn't require a yearly update?

Anyway, the features I use / like in Taskplus and want in a
replacement are:
a. calendar view with 4 months at a time in a square (Need this)
b. knows when holidays are and colors them (Need this)
c. can add tasks that make the day on calendar change color (Need)
d. possibly also pop up alarm for tasks (can live without)
e. cute current date icon in the tray (can live without)

What would you suggest? For my purposes it can't be the Palmpilot
software (I used taskplus for family reminders, and some people use
the Palm software for their own stuff and I don't want the databases
to interfere with each other).

If you create a new user in the Palm software, you can keep the databases
separate, one for each person who uses it (or one for family, one for
individual person).

Sorry, I don't know a freeware that does quite what you ask, though
Rainlendar <www.iki.fi/rainy> comes close and you might want to have a
look.

Thanks for the suggestion about Rainlendar, I had discovered that it
is customizable to allow the four-month calendar view that I like, and
can highlight days with events, AND has a nice date icon in tray. So
it can do 4 of the 5 things I wanted, but according to its home page,
it didn't know when holidays were, and couldn't import them, you would
have to put them in by hand.
Which would suck.
BUT, I read the forums for rainlendar,
http://www.ipi.fi/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/rainy/Forum/ikonboard.cgi
And, somebody called Nemesis][ has posted a free utility that CAN
import holidays from icalshare.com !
Search those forums for Ical/ics import program, or get it at his
page,
http://nemesis2.qx.net/cgi-bin/iCal-Import.exe
And then get US Holidays (iCalShare) from icalshare.com, and import
it.
Now, I am thrilled to have Rainlendar, with 4 month view, and
holidays!!

Thanks again, and I hope this helps other people who get just too fed
up with the ads.

If you are interested in TaskPlus 1.7, I can email the installation
program to you as an attachment. It's about 700 kilobytes. It does
everything you described as wanting. This was one of the last truly
free versions. Does not connect to the internet, doesn't flash ads.
In short, it's free, no ads, no spyware. I've sent you a private
email saying the same thing.
