Evan Teran

i recently stumbled on some spyware on my computer that
neither microsoft's anti-spyware or ad-aware caught (i
found it looking at autoruns/process-explorer from
www.sysinternals.com). Anyway, I happened to notice that
this program added itself to the allowed list in my Windows
XP SP2 firewall settings (of course i removed these
entires). But anyway, this program should A) cross check
the current firewall allowed list with known programs B)
prompt the user whenever a program is trying to add itself
without user concent (I am still trying to figure out where
this information is stored under the hood, doesn't appear
to be the registry at first glance).

Also, this may be pushing it, but it would be nice if it
looked at firefox's cookies as well as IE's also if it had
firefox support in the tracks eraser.

Thanks for the suggestions. I could easily see adding a checkpoint that
will monitor changes to the firewall's allowed list, for example.
