How about an option to include a more extensive description to a file. This
would include Audio/Visual and possibly interaction options. Think of it as
an included commercial, or soundbyte. All of this optimized in some Java-like
language.
Scrolling through data libraries, I can't help be ask my self, "What's that
file again? Where did I get that?" Opening each and every single is anoyoning.
By adding a shell feature to "transit packages" (items intended to be
shipped as a single lot) such as msi, installers and zipfiles, that allows
for fastloading filefront it increases the contact moments between content
creator and content user.
It would be important, in that light, that these fronts would take up very
little time to start, and remain intergrated into the rest of the interface.
(IE you're looking at it while filebrowsing - it should not take over the
users general activity by starting a fullscreen mode.) It's a commercial. A
snippet. A soundbyte. Something to perk your interest.
