Hello,
Would someone suggest the kind of video card, graphics card, capture card I
need to capture sound and video using movie maker. After making many
frustrating attempts to use my dvc150 I gave up; and just saw the answer to a
posted question as to why. There are 100's and 100's of cards out there and
I have no idea what to get.
Thanks
Roy

If you are referring to firewire cards they are, for the most part, all the
same. The biggest difference is what comes packaged with it as far as
software. Personally I go with a cheaper card and don't care about the
software. Take the camera in with you so you get the right firewire cable
and card and you will be fine.

Hello,
Just another quick question. The stuff I want to capture are my old VCR and
8mm of the kids to edit, do I still use a firewire card to plug my VCR or 8mm
camera into to capture?

If your source device (vcr, video camera) has a firewire connection I suggest
using it. Otherwise, get a USB transfer connecter like the kind sold by
Pinnacle. This component plugs into your pc's USB 2.0 port. You then plug
your source device into it using either rca audio/video cables or an rca
audio cable and a s-video video cable.
