suffring from slow performence

recently i have bhougt a new hp pavillion pc (3ghz with 256 mb of
ram,windows xp home edition) but it gives me poor performence as comparyed
to my friends pc(2.4ghz with 512 mb of ram windows xp proffestional) so what
shoud i do to increase my pc speed please help me ou

That extra 256MB of RAM your friend has can make a big difference in the speed of applications and games. I would recommend adding at least 256MB more RAM. You might also want to see how many unneeded programs you have starting when you boot the system.
