Suddenly italic fonts on all pages

I have since this morning that all homepages I visit have
one font in italic. The OS is XP Home with latest updates
and fixes. I read in a newsgroup that this problem was
solved by changing the screen resolution and then change
it back to the original. But that didn't fix the problem.
Anyone a suggestion?

I found out the ARIAL Font was corrupted. After deleting
and reinstalling the italic fonts were gone
