suddenly I cannot save changes to my web page due to "server error

After editing any page on my site, if I try to "save" or "publish" the nw
page, I het an error: server error: cannot close file
"/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/.htm.tmp"

Desparate for help....I cannot edit any pages in my live web site afte 9
months of no problems!
