suddenly excel crashes when i try to open an excel file

a file i was working on in excel all of a sudden now crashes excel when i try
to open the file for now apparent reason, i NEED this file, please help!

thanks Jan, none of the ideas in this worked, any other source of
possibilities? I need to do everything I can to salvage this file,
unfortunately even if it means paying for it
