Frustrated, and hoping for some kind help here...
Hapilly using IE6/XP Pro for many months. No new sofware, no
configuration issues or crashes, current virus updates, etc.... "Life is
good."
All of a sudden, I'm having two problems with IE 6. ANd honest-to-God,
nothing has changed on the system...
1) Whenever I view a PDF with the Acrobat plug-in (I use Acrobat Pro 6),
when I leave that "page" (ie. the "Back" button in IE), IE freezes. It
will "hang" for anywhere from 30-60 seconds, and then "disappear," no
longer appearing in Task Manager.
2) I always have the "Status bar" turned-on (checked) in IE (I like to
see there's progress on slow pages). The Status bar is there every time I
launch IE, no matter how many insances I launch (as it should be).
However, now, all of a sudden, the status bar is off (UNchecked) whenever
I press [Ctrl]-[N] (to open a new window), or choose File |New | Window
from the menu. In other words, it's always there when I launch a new
instance, but always missing when the application itself spawns a new
window!?
Any help on either/both of the above is very much appreciated! I began to
notice both of them around the same time.
