Hi, Group,

While in Winword, my wife accidentally hit some key combination or menu
instruction that locked out her ability to type characters and use f/
keys. However, the keyboard's auxiliary keys such as "volume" and
"eMail" are not affected. We don't know how to get out of this
situation. Keyboards don't function whether connected wirelessly or by
PS cable. I've tried three different ones -- an Easy Keyboard and two
Logitech wirelesses. No luck. What happened? Is there a quick fix, or
has something broken? Thanx for replies.

what if you boot in to safe mode or command prompt? can you type there?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it types in safe mode, and in a pre-WindowsXP password screen..
But I've since discovered that the keyboard actually functions
somewhat; the response time between striking a key and its arrival on
screen (such as in Winword) is >1 second. On all three keyboards I've
tried, and using either USB or PS/2. Therefore, it is useless as a
keyboard to type on. Any idea what's going on?
