sudden browser window crashing

Occasionally, when I surf the web, I receive the following
error "Explorer caused a general protection fault in
module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000075a8". A box appears that
ask if I would like to send a report to Microsoft and if I
would like to restart Internet Explorer. I have chosen the
various options but have yet to experience anything
getting better. Most of the time it locks up the
problematic window as a blank window and I continue with
my other widows until it happens again. Once it happens
again it pretty much locks up my computer cause me to re-
boot. Does anybody have any solutions?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
