Successful Updates do not disappear

Windows Updates: Critical Updates do not disappear after
they have been successfully installed. Have tried
reinstalling them and they still appear again. How long
do these and other Updates that you DO NOT WANT TO
DOWNLOAD keep appearing on your list?
