subreport problems

When trying to use two or three subreports in a main
report, the second subreport continually defaults back to
the first subreport. I am not sure I am explaining this
correctly. For example, I insert subreport PatientInfo
and then insert subreport Results, when I run it,
PatientInfo comes up twice and when I go back to design,
the subreport Results is no longer in my report but both
subreports are PatientInfo.

I have reinstalled the program and tried five different
machines-same problem.

Hi Gillian,
I just tried two subreports in Access 2000 and it seems to work OK but I
created everything from scratch (see below). However, during the process, I
created a report with subreports that is not now shown in the list of
Reports. It is, however, shown in the hidden table MSysObjects. Compact and
Repair won't fix the problem. It's not unusual.

Did you create the Results report from the PatientInfo report in any way or
vice versa? If you did a "Save As" or a rename, Access may have become
confused. Tools/Options/General/TrackNameAutoCorrectInfo and
PerformNameAutoCorrect in particular don't always work as advertised. Try
creating a new report with the two subreports on that. If it works, it's
Access's internal tables that are messed up. There's a utility to fix that
(JetComp) but it hasn't ever worked for me. If you use JetComp, back up your
mdb first!!! The safest way to fix internal Access corruption is to create a
new blank database and import all of your objects into the new one.

If this doesn't fix the problem, please post back and I'll watch the thread.
