Subreport details go to second page

I have a subreport that contains all the detail records associated with one
customer on the main report. All is well until it a customer is processed
that has too many detail lines. I guess that's the problem because when
there are nine details, they all start printing on the second page. The
header info prints fine on page one, but the rest of the first page is blank.
Is this because I'm using a subreport in the wrong way or is there some
setting I can use to fix this? I tried the grouping properties but couldn't
find anything that worked.

Thanks in advance,

In the property for the detail band set the keep together property to no.
That should fix that problem.
Hope this helps.

Thanks again. That did the trick.

I've got a related question.

My subreport deals with the signatures towards the end of a report. It
contains
* people's names and their profession
* labels saying "signature"
* a dotted line to place the signature on

Sometimes a name and a label appear at the bottom of a page, and the dotted
line is printed at the top of the next page. I've tried to set the "keep
together"-property of the details section of the subreport, but this does not
change anything.

Do you have a clue?
I would be very pleased.

Solved it!

Somewhere else in this discussion group, I read that "keep lines together"
and other page-influencing properties are governed by the main report, and
can not be altered by the subreports. So I decided to do the following:

I've drawn a transparent square in the subreport, surrounding all items in
the details section. Because MS Access does not cut controls into two pieces,
the square (which is in fact a control) keeps the lines together.
