subreport - border on main report moves down

I have a report grouped by classes with a border around each page. The class
footer has a border on the sides and bottom so that it is flexible according
to the amount of data on this last page.

All that was fine until I now added a subreport (of no more than 5 lines) on
this last page. Although there is plenty of room after this subreport,
nevertheless the bottom line always moves down. The more information I have,
the more it moves down. This causes a space between the side borders and the
bottom border.

Any help?
 
I just changed the subreport to a permanent size - cannot shrink or grow and
the report is fine. Since there are no more than a few lines I can do it.
