Subnet wrong in dial-up connection - how 2 change?

The problem is that I have a business application that I need to be able to
dial-up from home so that when I access this application, I can perform a
download of data that I've entered while away from the office. After
successfully getting dialed up, I attempt the dowload. I get an error that
the system can't see what is normally a networked drive. For example, when
I'm in the office on our network, I can "see" the N: drive, which contains my
application. I need to be able to "see" this same drive after I dialup. After
successfully getting connnected via dialup, then attempting the download, I
get an error that my application cannot "see" this N: drive. I have attempted
to manually set the domain on my computer to the name of the server that this
application resides on, but I get an error that the domain controller cannot
be found. When I look at the details for the dialup, I can see that it has
the wrong subnet mask set of numbers; I need to somewhere/somehow set this to
what is the correct subnet. I am hoping that this is the issue, that simply
by setting the subnet to a correct value, I will then be able to "see" the
networked drive while dialed up.

The Internet will not display after a successful dial-up connection. We
changed our subnet mask months ago, that's how I know that the subnet being
displayed is incorrect. I was hoping that if someone showed me how to change
the subnet, then both my business application and the internet not coming up
would be resolved.

subnet may not be the problem. It is possible you have a name resolution issue. Can you ping the remote computer by IP? If yes, you may want to create a batch file to map the N drive. posting the result of ipconfig /all may help.

Good morning, sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Here is what I've
done at this point:
1)I have dialed up successfully
2)I have pinged the server's ip successfully
3)I can see the mapped N: drive, but it will not open the contents, it has a
red x on it
4)The subnet is still not our new address

Here is some information from the Ipconfig /all command:
IP Address: 192.168.100.153
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.153
DNS Servers: 192.168.100.4
Primary WINS Servers: 192.168.100.4
Secondary WINS Server: 192.168.100.4

Assuming you have XP, the subnet 255.255.255.255 is OK. what do you receive if using net view \\remoteip?

I aggree with Robert. Forget about the subnet mask. You are working with
a point to point connection, so the netmask is irrelevant. If you don't want
to take our word for it, read KB 254231 .

"System error 53 has occurred. The network path was not found".

System 53 is name resolution or connection issue.can you do net share on the remote computer? or this link may help,
