I've noticed a problem with subinacl (from W2K RK) on SP4.
After applying SP4 any attempt to invoke subinacl with the /service switch
always produces the folloing error:
C:\Program Files\Resource Kit>subinacl /service snmp
snmp : 1783 The stub received bad data.
I can query other things like files/shares just fine.
Subinacl /service still works fine on all the remaining SP3 machines I have.
I see there is a new subinacl with the 2003 RK.
However when I use it, none of the perms are displayed:
C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools>subinacl /service snmp
+service snmp
Elapsed Time: 00 00:00:00
Done: 0, Modified 0, Failed 0, Syntax errors 0
I rely heavily on subinacl to grant non-default service permissions.
