I have a main form with three subforms. The linking field on all forms is
called MR Number. When I populate information on the subforms, I want the MR
Number entered on the main form to automatically populate the MR Number on
the subform(s). How do I make this happen?

Umm...

Why?

Creating empty "placeholder" records containing nothing but the
linking field is generally neither necessary nor beneficial. The blank
records have a way of never getting filled in; they just take up
space. The MR Number will fill in automatically at the first keystroke
of a user entering data into the subform.

Is this not happening for you? If not, what are the Master Link Field
and Child Link Field properties of the subform controls?

Sorry, I was too brief when describing my Access situation. The MR Request
on the subform is not automatically filling in when I enter the first
keystroke in the subform. I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to Access
so I'm not sure if I'm answering your question about the Master Link Field
and Child Link Field properties of the subform controls properly. When
looking at the subform properties the Master Link Field and Child Link Fields
reflect the MR Reqest field from the main and subforms respectively. I
have also compared the properties of this database with one that works and
have not found any differences.

Thanks in advance for your help.
