Subform hit list

Hello,

I have a main form with 2 subforms.
Subform1 is basically an unbound text box where user enters query criteria,
then hits a command button which runs query.
Subform2 is SUPPOSED to show the results of the query. I have it set up as a
continuous form.
When I hit the my SEARCH command button a new window opens up with the
results of the query instead of my subform2 being populated.
 
Ok, a little more info...
when I open Subform2 by itself, it prompts me for the query criteria and
populates the Subform correctly.
I feel like I am going in circles here and have become exteremly frustrated.
I must not understand the concepts here.
