I want to create the subdomain services.bountyx.net, so in my DNS I
added a Cname Record called services.bountyx.net and a value of
bountyx.net/services, however it's not working. What did I do wrong?

Thanks.

BTW when I create a CNAME for services.bountyx.net and have it point
to another host like www.google.com it works fine, I think maybe it
has to do with the '/' character.

Slashes are illegal characters. To create a child domain (subdomain),
rt-click your domain name, new domain, and type in services. CNAMEs can get
you into trouble and I usually recommend not to use them, unless absolutely
necessary. Many admins I know use them with web pages when there are
mutliple names coming into one website.

If you're trying to create a subdomain for a website, just create a
subfolder under your website's root folder and it will show up in IIS as a
subfolder. You can then create that as a subweb by rt-clicking on your
website, create new virtual directory and call it services and then point to
it's path.
