dear sir
i have a subdirectory in my computer. i would like to secure it that nobody
except me can't see and modify it. my windows is XP and it is formatted in
NTFS method. i am one of the member of a group with an adminstrator ,

Do you have Windows XP Home or Professional?
If you have Professional, go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab >
and disable "Use simple file sharing", then Aplly and Accept.
After that go to the Folder's Properties and you will see Security tab.
There you must add your user and set the permissions.
If you have Home Edition, you must restart your PC in Safe Mode. Then you go
to the Folder's Properties and you will see Security tab. There you must add
your user and set the permissions. After that, restart your PC and try.

In the tab Sharing you can hide your folder with a symbol $ at the final.
Example: FOLDERSNAME$
