Greetings,

Just started using MM2, I can add titles OK, but I need to superimpose or
add subtitles at the base of the screen, is this possible with this
software?

Greetings,

There is now a way of doing this thanks to one of other readers here...take
a look at the thread "Using Gif's" of a couple of days back...the thread
changes its name part way through to Success. The thread and link to
PapaJohn's web site will tell how it can be done using a special
Transition.

Choose to add a title "on" the selected clip (not before or after) when you
make a title.
Choose title style "subtitle" from the list of title animations

Go to the timeline view and you can see titles that overlay or are "on"
clips go in the title track not the video track. If you already have a title
in the video track you want to be an overlay - just drag it from the video
track down to the title track.

Hi there,

I am sure you will have fun with it..we are thats for sure...any
problems...Just Ask

Hi there,

I just realised...when you said you can add Titles Ok, I took it that you
knew how to use the Titling options in the basic MM2, have I got that wrong
?

Thanks for the info folks, I have now asserted how to place sub titles at
the base of the screen, so I am off to put these on tonight, I am editing a
community video that some deaf people will want to watch.

I had placed ordinary titles on screen but was not aware that there was a
selection of titling options under "change the title animation" I thought
these were animated titles only, it helps when people point you in the right
direction, I suppose I may have found out in time by trying everything out,
but that could have been next year.

Peter,

You can chose subtitles by going to Tools|Titles and
Credits. The subtitles are not as close to the bottomof
the viewable screen as you might like, though

Hi there,

You are spot on with that...the text could do with being a fair bit lower.
Still my original reply to Peter still applies...thanks to Ken and testing
by PapaJohn, we now have a new way of adding text as well as other things
and putting them exactly where we want...and if that was not enough we can
now use animated objects (produced with any other package of your choice)
and include the resulting AVI , MPEG or animated gif to our projects....and
its so easy...well I can do it, so it must be easy.

cool, glad I could help

Here is one more tip for doing lots of subtitles.

Once you add one, ctrl+drag it on the timeline to the next spot you want
one, it makes a copy of the one you drag, then double-click that to change
the text, and repeat. Much faster and keeps the same formatting
(font/color/subtitle)
