Sub-Sites?

Brand new to FP. Created a site, published fine, no problems. Created a
second site which now seems to be a sub-site of the first site, if that makes
sense. When I try and publish the 2nd site, all the files from both sites
publish. How do I make the 2nd site a "stand alone" site? Thanks.
 
Uncheck publish subsites, and publish it separately.
