In Access2000, I have a form which I develped for our production staff. The
form displays all jobs received today with the pertinent information in each
field. The form is based off of a query, as I needed to link a few tables
in order to gather the information needed for the form. There are seven
fields that the production staff uses for reference only, and I have the
fields locked so that the data can not be changed. There is one field that
I need them to enter a date in. I first had the field as part of the query,
created a form using the query as the record source. I was unable to enter
information into this field. So, I dropped it from the form and query and
created a sub-form with only this field on the sub-form. This gave the same
result. I am still unable to enter the information. I want the data to go
directly to the table from this one field. I'm not certain why I am unable
to enter the data on the sub form. Please help.

Thanks

Please post the SQL view of the Subform's recordsource property, and
the Master/Child Link Field. It sounds like you've based the subform
(and, before that, the mainform) on a query that is not updateable -
this is often a curable problem, you may not need the subform at all.
