Hello!

I don't know if you will be able to help me or not but
thought that it was worth a crack.

I am working for a health and safety company and have been
charged with the mammoth task of tidying up all of the
templates that they use, and making them into generic
formats. I am not very computer oreintated and am finding
this really hard. Wonder if you could awnser some
questions for me?!?!

When there is a table in a template and you are using the
bullet points and numbers, how do I get the letters to not
have a full stop after them? e.g a b c not a. b. c.??

When I started a new template this morning I suddenly
found that I cannot access any of the styles that I have
been using, I am clicking on the style button on the top
of my toolbar but it only produces old ones that are not
relevant and I haven't used. Any ideas?

Well even if you don't get this it has been quite a
cathartic experience!

Regards,

Lucy Gush

Numbered lists can be custom-formatted per the dialog in Format > Bullets
and Numbering > Numbering. Choose the a. b. c. option and click the
Customize button.

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you
include details of your application and Windows versions, and whether
or not you have included any service pack updates.

As Mike says, you can customize numbering through Format | Bullets and
Numbering. Anything in the "Number format" box that is not shaded is
user-customizable, so you can just delete the periods. For more on setting
up numbering properly, see
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html

If you're not seeing all styles listed in the Styles dialog, it may be that
the "Category" is set to "Styles in use" rather than "All styles" or
"User-defined Styles."
