Yes, there are at least two ways.
One way is to use File > Save As to save the first document as a
template (change the Save As Type dropdown in the dialog to "Word
Template" to save it as a .dot file). Remove any unwanted text from
the template. Then base the second document on the template, and the
styles will be there.
Another way, better if the second document already exists, is to use
the Organizer (press Alt+F8 to open the Macros dialog, then click the
Organizer button in the dialog). Click the Styles tab of the
Organizer. It shows the styles of the first document on one side and
those of the Normal.dot template on the other side. Click the Close
File button under the Normal list, then click it again (when it says
Open File) and open the second document. Select any styles from the
first document and click the Copy button.

When you are in Open File, you'll need to change the "What type of
file?" dropdown from "Templates .dot" (or .dotx or .dotm) to either
"Word Documents" (of whatever kind) or "All Files" before you browse
to find the document whose styles you want to copy over.
