Create a new document based on the template. In your new document, use the
Insert File dialog box to bring in the existing contents. Note that unless a
style with the same name is already being used in the inserted document, you
will have to apply it to text.
To insert a file:
- Click Insert | File. Locate the file that you want to insert, select it,
and click the Insert button. (Word 2003)
- Click the Insert tab of the ribbon. Click the arrow next to the Object
button, and choose Text from File. Locate the file, select it, and click the
Insert button. (Word 2007)
