How can I get one (or two) in my web so that I can apply it to see the
changes it makes? Thank you.

Maybe I didn't ask my question very well. I am trying to "apply" a new Style
Sheet, say Arcs or Bars, to a page I have some plain text on. I would like
to see what effect each Style Sheet applies and how they differ. I'm
guessing that each one will apply a different color to the background,
change the text somewhat and, maybe, some other formatting of the text. I
just can't seem to figure out how to do this. Can someone help? Thanks.

You bet...

File, New, Page or Web.
Then from the list that pops up, choose Page Templates.
Now click on the Style Sheets tab.
Pick a style sheet.
Save it and give it a name. something.css

Hope this helps.

Thanks for helping but I must be missing a step (or two). Here is what I
did.

I created a blank three page Web with a Custom Link Bar (vertical links at
the top and horizontal ones for the bottom) and chose No Theme for my test.
Then I chose Arcs from the Style Sheets, clicked save and named the page
arcs.css.
The arcs.css is now in my test Web (I can see it in the folder list) but the
Web hasn't changed. It is still exactly as it was before
I saved the arcs.css Style Sheet to it. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong
or overlooking. I'm using FP 2002 and XP Pro with all updates current.

You forgot the last step
Open your FP web and use Format Style Sheet Links
- browse to your style sheet arcs.css and select the apply to all pages
