I lost my AGP slot and inserted a used PCI Viedo card. Now my songs sutter
occasionaly, but quite often. Is this related at all or is there something else
causing this to happen?
Lost the AGP slot? You seem to have more going on than you've
mentioned.
A PCI video card could indeed cause the problem, or be just another
PCI device working properly but now the bus has enough usage that the
sound card is showing it's weaknesses more.
You might try changing the PCI latency setting in the bios. I'd try
"64" if it isn't there already, then +-64 (depending on where it
started, I'd expect it would end up between 32 and 128).
Different video card and/or sound card drivers might help.
Changing the slot used by video and/or sound card might help.
You didn't mention the operating system or motherboard/chipset?
If it's an old Via chipset board try newer Via 4in1 drivers, but for
that matter any chipset might benefit from a driver update.
You might also visit your motherboard manufacturer's website, check
the FAQ, read the BIOS notes to see if their BIOS updates address
anything seeming relevant.
