Hi,
Please can you help me as i have exhausted all help at
the manufacturers web site and telephone support lines,
but the problem still persists in both the dvd and cd-rw
drive:
1. After playing any audio cd for a length of 45mins or
towards the end of the cd, the sound stutters and pops.
If i restart the cd it resets it self for the same length
of time again. Basically i can not listen to any Audio
(original) cd to the end over 45 mins or so.
2. Whilst listening to a cd and connecting to the
internet the volume will increase dramatically. But the
volume slider does not represent the increase and stays
at the original level. To get it back to the previous
level all i have to do is click the slider once or press
the keyboard speaker button.
Note that games and dvds run fine for all drives.
It is really annoying and the support lines now say that
i will have to replace my motherboard, which seems a bit
drastic as the pc is only 1 yr old!
my pc information:
Packard bell imedia 5093 pc
Windows xp home edition (SP1)
Windows media player series 9
On board sound card: Sigmatel C Major STAC9750T
Sis Chipset 651
I have tried the following, but none have worked:
Checked DMA for all ide connections.
Installed the latest drivers for the sound card.
Removed / reinstalled all ide connections and sound card
from device manager.
Upgraded to media player 9 recently.
Disablled digital cd audio for all cd drives in device
manager.
Turned off the graphic equaliser in media player.
also tried to install the sis audio chipset drivers, but
it did not work or even show in the device manager. This
was recomeded by someone else who had the same problem -
it sorted theirs out!
I would appreciate any help to stop the sound probs,
Thanks.
