Ever since I caught a Trojan the other week (I've long
since managed to remove it), my CPU has been acting
strange.
Symptoms - computer will hang, skip, and stutter several
times a second at random intervals, as though loading
large file or performing complicated tasks. Symptoms
affect mouse, audio, and games.
Notes - The graph in the "Performance" tab of the Windows
Task Manager shows highly erratic up-and-down CPU usage,
peaking up to 28% or even 40%, at a high rate; even when
the computer is idling and all programs have been closed.
A picture of my "ECG" is included for your reference.
This image provides a somewhat accurate representation of
the frequency and the pattern of the CPU's "stuttering."

The computer (at the time of this snapshot) has two IE
browsers open and has been idle for about eight minutes.
All other programs have been shut down.
