Stupid checkbox question

I'm almost embarassed to ask this question but here it goes: I'm converting a
form somebody else built that is currently in datasheet view to continuous
form view. There's a checkbox on the form. In datasheet view the check in the
checkbox is a nice green color and easily visible. In continuous form view
it's black and less obvious. I can just hear the person who created the form
ask me why I changed it. Can anybody tell me why there's a difference and is
there any way I can get the datasheet look of the checkbox on my continuous
form? I've looked and looked and can't seem to see a property to set that
will affect this.

Cheers,
Jon

I can't figure out how the original form is displaying a green check in
datasheet view. Would you be interested in sending me a cut-down copy
of the database, containing just that form and whatever table(s) or
query it's based on -- empty, if you like? If you're willing, you can
send it to the address derived by removing NO SPAM from the reply
address of this message. If that address isn't visible to you, you can
get it from my web site, which is listed in my sig. Please do *not*
post my real address in the newsgroup -- I don't want to be buried in
spam and viruses.

i've been wondering the same thing, Dirk. if you figure out how he did it,
will you post the "how" back to the thread? - i'd really be interested to
learn. tina :)

Sorry for the delay in responding, I got sidetracked and ambushed. In trying
to create a db to send to you I noticed something. I'm on Access 2003 SP1.
The black/green behavior seems to take place when I'm working on a database
created using (most likely) Access 2000. When I create a new database using
Access 2003 SP1 the check in the box is green always. I'm sure there's a
simple explanation and it probably involves my local system, but I'll send
you an extremely simple example.
Cheers, Jon.

I've checked out your sample, and the check-marks aren't green for me on
either form, in Access 2000 or Access 2002. I think this must be either
a registry appearance setting, or an Access option setting that isn't
available (AFAICT) from the user interface. I'm still mystified as to
how it was done.

If you create a new database in Access 2000, do datasheet check-marks
come out green?

I no longer have Access 2000 on my system. I DO have it loaded on my 2000
server and that same sample DB shows black in all cases and shows black
checks in the database I created using Access 2003 on my development machine
(which shows green checks in all cases on that machine). I think you're on
the right track as to your explanation. At this point I'd like to know what's
going on but I'm prepared to live with it.

Dirk,

I think this is a Windows theme setting. On my XP Home machine
last night I took a look at a database using 2003. In datasheet
view all the check marks were green as well as when I used
the form wizard to create a form off that table.
