stuffed up bios update

Hello,

I hope you can help me. I was trying to tune up my PC with various tweaks.
One of the things I had tried to do was update the bios of my HIS Excalibur
Radeon 9600XT Turbo Platinum card. Unfortunately, it appears that I used an
incorrect bios because, after rebooting, there are no graphics displayed on
that particular PC's monitor. The card is simply not detected by the
computer. :(

Is there any way I can repair that card's bios?

You'll need a PCI video card. If you have one, and your system
bios supports autodetecting between AGP and PCI video boot,
you can just reflash the card with a proper bios.
 
Sorry to bother the group again. :) I now think I get myself a PCI
graphics card to fix my AGP Excalibur card. However, after checking the HIS
web site, I cannot seem to locate a bios my card - an Excalibur Radeon
9600XT Turbo.

Can anyone suggest a site from where I could get a bios for this card?

BTW, I have already emailed HIS asking them to send me the bios file as yet,
of course, I have not yet got a reply.

Contact the manufacturer again - they should be able to supply you a bios
setup to run automatically from a bootable floppy disc. Sapphire did this
for
me when I stuffed up the bios on my card.

You know those jobs you wish you'd never started! Usually the flash utility
allows you to backup the old BIOS. If you are ever doing this kind of thing
again, might I piss you off by suggesting that you do that! Hope you get it
working.

Thanks for all your replies everyone. I know I stuffed up with fooling
around with my cards bios. Anyways, I was able to obtain a PCI card for
AU$1.00 at a local flea market. My main problem was that I could not track
down the proper bios (HIS Excalibur 9600XT Turbo) but made a best guess and
used a Sapphire bios that was similar in specs to my card. Well, I am
typing this from that machine now. When I'll obtain the correct bios I will
reflash it again.
