Studio vs Basic

I can see Visual Basic.Net cost $109.00

Visual Studio.Net costs $1079.00 up to $1799.00 for the Architect version.

Looks like Visual Studio is like Microsoft Office. It has a suite of other
things like Biztalk and also VB.NET included. right?

I am taking a class and the instructor kept correcting himself when talking
about VB.NET. We will be using Visual Studio.

If I just use VB.NET, will there be a difference in learning how to use
V.Studio.NET?

If you are only learning VB.NET, there won't be big differences.

You can also get an academic version i believe, that will be cheaper.

You are right.

Some educational organizations may be member of special programs so some
students may get VS.NET for free (for example Vienna University Of
Technology and many other universities and schools):

I would ask a teacher for further information, maybe the OP's school is
member in a program like those mentioned above.
