I have been running on my student copy of Windows XP for
a little over a year.

Because of the MSBLAST.EXE problems, I went to the
Windows Update web site and it let me go through all the
steps up to downloading the specific patch I requested.
Then it stated that I don not have a valid product key.

In the past I have been able to download patches from
this site.

Your help would be appreciated.

You'll need the "full, retail version" of Windows XP Pro and then
perform a "repair install".
