stuck web pages

Hi,

I've developed a problem with Internet Explorer. When I
browse to a web page and subsequently finish reading it,
I can't get the page to close. I've tried the close box
on the top right hand corner, I've tried to right click
and use the close option, but none of this works. The
only way I can get it to close is if i use the Windows
Task Manager facility - but that closes the whole
Internet Explorer package. Any suggestions please?

Hi,
You probably have an adware/spyware program running. Try these freeware
programs:

Ad-aware 6- Lavasoft: http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot - Search & Destroy: http://security.kolla.de/
BHODemon 1.0: http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm

If Ad-aware fixes the problem, you don't have to run all of them, but
occasionally one of these programs will find something that the other
missed.

Hi X-man,

Did you try Alt+F4? I've seen it close instances of IE that couldn't
be closed otherwise.

You could also try opening a new instance of IE by clicking on the IE
icon. Sometimes, this can free a blocked window.
