I have a Dell laptop 2650 with WinXP/SP1 installed. Due to some error on my part I lost some files and wanted to restore them using another licensed copy of WinXP/SP2. Stupid me, I failed to turn off the anti-virus software as well as a few other programs before doing so and now my system is stuck in the setup mode. Every time I turn on the system it cycles up normally then says: "setup is restarting". It remains for hours on the screen that reminds me I have only 39 minutes remaining for setup to complete. I can't even get back to where I was before I started all this. My system is literally stuck in gear. How do I get it back?

Try this: "How to Troubleshoot problems during installation when you
upgrade from Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition to Windows XP"
