My dvd drive wont open...I have tried pulling off the casing of my computer
but it is impossible to get to the dvd that is stuck inside.Any suggestions?
P.s....there is no reset button.......

Little hole in the front of the drive......insert a paperclip
that should open the drawer and you can retrieve your DVD bfore you go out
and buy a new unit to replace the broken one.

Several people have said to do this paperclip trick...however there is no
little hole in the front of the drive...unless maybe you mean inside the
computer...because the front of my computer is solid and has no holes...lol

There is a tiny hole in the front faceplate of the drive, "WITH the
COMP. OFF" push a straightened paperclip through.
May have to push fairly hard. "that's what that hole is there for! to
open a stuck tray)
Good luck

In this case you will have to remove the drive first. The hole is there
all right but is probably hidden by the front casing of the computer.

Have you tried a simple reboot?
Doing a reboot will shutdown any program that has exclusive rights to that
drive and is not releasing it.
