Stuck and another question

Hi All,

I did manage to download RC1 using Ak Download Manager, but now it's stuck!
I tried to launch and then I pressed cancel. It did NOT download the file to
default location either. According to Task Manage; it's running 6 hours...I
guess I have to kill it and try again tonight.

Question #2, I have XP on C (with a logical partition drive letter E). I
installed Vista 2 on 2nd h/d = D. I Can only access XP in safe mode.
Should I install RC1 from XP into logical partition E or install RC1 over
Beta 2 on D or install from D onto C...or from XP C to some where else...? I
have all my important files and disks available, I have the time and a spare
PC to use should I mess up...so it does not matter but I want to do it right
this time...any suggestions are appreciated!

You all are so well informed...I am almost embrassed to be here...but what a
great way to learn and grow!

The absolutely safest way would be to unplug your primary disk and
install Vista on your 2nd disk. There may be problems with your BIOS not
booting from that disk without making changes so it might not be the
most practical solution in the long run.

You probably won't have any use for Beta2 now that RC1 is out so I would
suggest that you either try to upgrade your Beta2 or make a clean
install on the same partition. Personally I think that it's always best
to do a clean install but some people have been saying that an upgrade
is a clean install with Vista, still you get to keep some of the old
files like applications and such. I would boot from the DVD and make a
clean install over your Beta2 installation.
