I have had my XP 100 for a couple of years now and it's served me
pretty well. every time i reformat/reinstall my computer, it does this
thing where it doesnt function at first and i have to do... something
to fix it. of course i've completely forgotten what that IS, so any
help would be appreciated.
I have windows XP w/SP2, on a Dell Inspiron laptop; have paperport v8
and the accompanying drivers.
Paperport installs fine, but when i try to install the onetouch
drivers, it gets right to the end and then doesnt recognize the
calibration sheet - it doesnt "bite" the paper. therefore when i press
the button to scan it doesnt scan properly. Visioneer support says its
a hardware issue but it's not because i was JUST using it before i
reformatted.
I have tried BOTH drivers from the net, uninstalling everything,
reinstalling everything, reinstalling drivers, calibrating from
"scanners and cameras" (where it just says please insert calibration
page and try again) and all the stupid fix-it things on the vis.
website to no avail.
PLEASE PLEASE don't make me sit on the phone wasting my money and my
time with visioneer support! I beg of you
(yes i'm aware that's a bit dramatic)
Thanks
HW.

Could it be you need to install a USB patch? If it's hardware is should
not work on another PC. Have you tried that? Also have you tried booting
in safe mode and deleting all drivers that appear to be related to the
scanner?
