Stripping audio from imported video

How do I remove the audio from imported video so I can replace it with
my own soundtrack?

At the moment, I'm getting both the music and the wind noise from the
camera, which isn't quite what I intended.
 
right-click on the audio part of a video clip you want to mute or change the
volume... there are options there to do it. If you mute the clip, use other
audio on the audio/music track to play during it.
