Hello

I have an XP pro PC with 3 Hard disks:

1 SCSI as the boot disk.
2 Stripped SATA/2 disks

Yesterday, my SCSI drive failed and I cannot access to the OS, now I
have to repartition and reformat the drive, and then reinstall XP, but I
am afraid losing my stripped disks data.

After reinstalling XP, will the system be able to recognize my stripped
disks as before? Did I already loose all my data? is there a special
procedure to prevent losing my data?

Best regards,
Hugo Hiram.

Disconnect the SATA drives. Install XP on the SCSI drive. You may need to
load a driver for the SCSI controller during the install. Reconnect the SATA
drives. You may need to load a driver for the SATA controller. If the Raid
array doesnt show up go into the disk management console and use Import
foreign disks so that you can see the RAID 0 array.

Once you can see the array as one drive letter in Windows Explorer you will
most likely have to take ownership of the files on it in order to access the
files.

Why would that be a concern.....If youre replacing the SCSI hd,then
reinstalling
xp to that drive, the RAID set has nothing to do with that,it all stays
intact.Simply
unplug the RAID set before you install the OS to SCSI,once xp is installed,
replug in RAID,the configuration utility will recognize it so long as the
board
is set to RAID & SCSI......
