Hello,

I see stripes on my print-outs of the file "Ctladytr.jpg" (see article
"Drucker testen mit der c't-Lady" -
http://heise.de/ct/faq/result.xhtml?url=/ct/faq/qna/drucker_testen.shtml)
with the bubble jet printer i560x in black und dark blue areas of the
test picture
I get annoying results also for the dark green leaves in the test
image from another magazine. (CHIP Tintendrucker Testdateien mit
JPG-Bild - http://www.chip.de/downloads/c_downloads_8832650.html)

Does anybody know a solution?

The Canon support did not react to my requests.

The print head is properly aligned.
Other colourful areas do not show problems.

Sincerely,
Markus Elfring

It is likely the paper. What are you testing with?

Q

If the printer alignment was properly done, this can be the cartridge or the
paper. I have more often seen bad cartridges do stripe effects.

Try one of the Canon papers and see it the problem persists. From my
experience, paper composition is the single most important variable for
printing on Canon printers.

How do the paper properties relate to stripes with dark colours?

Is it possible to detect software problems with printer drivers in
specific colour areas?

Are there any differences between the model i560 and i560x?
What does the "x" indicate?

A seller told me that the "x" specifies models that are sold by
specific vendors like the German companies "Media Markt" and "Saturn".
The difference is only the darker colour of the cover flap.

1. The page "http://dl-digital.com/" has got another troublesome
picture example for Canon.

The green wall and the black shadows are problem areas. Please sing a
song... ;-)
Which stripes or lines do you get by "microbanding problems"?

Please check colour gradients on your printers.

3. A few forums describe well-known problems.
