Strip individual slide formatting in PP 2003

Is there a way to globally strip individual slide formatting in
PowerPoint 2003 and just leave the master slide formatting layer?

Users commonly format individual items not understanding the concept of
a master. Once they do that, it appears that the presentation is
destroyed because no amount of further manipulation will make the fonts
in slides respond to changes in the master. What is the solution to
this common problem other than rewriting an entire presentation (not
an option)?

Hello,

You can reapply the slide master formatting to a given slide by choosing
"Reapply Layout" from drop-down menu for the slide layout that is being
used for the given slide (in the Slide Layout task pane)

1) Navigate to slide to which you want to reapply slide master
formatting/defaults.
2) Format -> Slide Layout
3) Locate the layout being used by the slide and click on the arrow on it's
thumbnail in the task pane to display the drop-down menu, and
4) Choose "Reapply Layout" (If command is dimmed, it means that you have
chosen the wrong slide layout from the task pane).

NOTE: If you have multiple slides (using the same slide layout) to which
you want to reapply the Slide Master defaults/formatting, you can select
multiple slides in Slide Sorter view and reapply the layout to all the
selected slides at the same time.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to
make this easier to do in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Thank you, John. That works. It unfortunately works very slowly
because when slides are modified by users they no longer conform to
just two or so layouts, so selecting them in bulk and trying to
convert back to what they should have been is a lost cause. I ended up
doing them one by one (ouch on a large presentation).

Yes, I do, and I will send it there, but allow me to mention it here:

PLEASE use layers. I use Adobe Photoshop, and the concept of layers is
an absolute life saver.
