I am trying to find out how to remove a file named
Strings.bat, it is infected with a virus on one of my
machines and when I go through the registery it is telling
me that it is shared and is not able to delete. I have
Norton Anti Virus in all of my computers and it is picking
up the infected file but will not follow through. Is there
any way to find out what is running that is not suposed to
be in the background? If anyone knows how please reply,
this has cost me alot of money for tech support and they
have not eliminated my problem.
Thank You
Janelle

You might want to try rebooting into Safe Mode to see if you can delete the
file from there. Also, it may not be a bad idea to download a trial version
of another brand of antivirus software and see if it can clean it. Often one
antivirus tool will find or fix a virus that another cannot.

How can I boot into safe mode?
The Norton is picking up the virus but it states that the
strings.bat is being shared.
