I'm having a horrible time trying to stream live radio from the Internet!
It used to work for me but not anymore and I don't know what happened. Some
links I can stream, but a lot of them I can't. I've tried turning off
Windows Firewall, disabling my virus protection, following the Help
guidelines suggested for IE settings, everything I can think of, but nothing
works!

Would someone be so kind to try this link to see if it works for you, and
then report back? http://www.1190kex.com/pages/listen/index.php

I'm on a wireless network, using a Linksys wireless DSL router. I subscribe
to a couple of radio shows (George Noory and Phil Hendrie) and I can listen
to their live programs using Real Player, but Windows Media Player doesn't
work, so maybe that's my problem, though I've tried every setting in WMP too
and still nothing!

Thanks,
Ray

Ray, I tried the link and I couldn't hear it either. I tried twice.

Thanks Vicki, maybe it isn't my system! Hopefully someone else out there
will try it too! I live in a place where radio reception is horrible, so I
depend a lot on the Internet for my entertainment, I don't watch much TV!

Hope someone else comes along and tries it, too. Took quite a while to
buffer even though I am on cable and P4.

Did you get to the 'buffering' stage? I never get that far, the player pops
up and it says "connecting to media" then finally after a minute or two it
says 'Ready' and when I click the Play button it just repeats the
"connecting to media" routine, but it never begins the 'buffering' stage!
Thanks for trying it Larry.

Yes, it completes buffering and says its playing, but I get no sound at all.
It shows what's playing and the time elapsed, but no sound.
Larry

OK here in Australia. (probably because we are upside down :-)
(took about 5 seconds to buffer and listen to "Kex Live)
P4 - 3Ghz on cable.

Ray,
I got it to play pretty quick like. Sunday Morning at 6:30. That was
straight through IE 6. Didn't try WMP or WinAMP.
Don't think that's what you wanted to hear but hope it helps anyway

Anthony

Thanks Anthony, I'm beginning to think that it might have something to do
with my ISP, I've tried everything else!

Ray, I tried it again Sunday morning, after seeing that Anthony had no
problem, and, guess what, I also had no problem. I could hear it just fine.
I didn't do anything different from last nite when I couldn't hear it.
Larry

Hi Ray,

News flash...it's working today! I replied to you yesterday that it was NOT
working, but I tried it again just now and it comes in loud and clear. Hope
it works for you too.

Vicki :-)

Was fine for me using IE6 and 56modem.
However make sure you are not blocking akamai.com.
And maybe you are just logging in at a bad time. They post:
This station is utilizing Akamai, a national streaming and creative
services company to broadcast its signal to the Internet.
During the broadcast, you may notice periods of intermittent interruptions,
or silence, which is normal. These periods of silence are covering local
on-air commercials, which we are not allowed to broadcast over the internet.
Please be assured that you have not lost the stream, as the broadcast
should
resume after the commercial set is over.
(commercial sets vary from two to five minutes long).
