Need help finding a good, basic free program that will let me capture
streaming audio from web sites and put it on CD.
I've been searching, but am getting inundated with stuff that starts out
looking like it's free, but ends up being so limited it's unusable, to force
you to BUY the unlimited version.

FTP supports SSL encryption of connection data, and also supports
